“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

Community Involvement - Vanessa and Elsie Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness

At PCI, we believe that small gestures can make a big difference. Our Random Acts of Kindness initiative is one of our most cherished traditions—especially during the holiday season. In lieu of a Christmas gift, each PCI employee receives $100 to give back to someone in the community through a thoughtful act of kindness. The money can go to one individual or be spread across several small gestures—it’s all about making a positive impact in someone’s day.

Since launching the program in 2014, we’ve witnessed countless stories of generosity, compassion, and tears of joy. From helping families in need to surprising strangers with unexpected kindness, each act reminds us of the power of giving and the heart of our community.

Throughout the year, our team continues to carry out random acts—supporting local causes, uplifting neighbors, and creating moments of joy wherever we can. It’s our way of paying it forward and encouraging others to do the same.

Community Involvement - 2024 PCI Giving Tree

The Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is a cherished holiday tradition at PCI that brings our community together to share the joy of the season. Each year, we partner with local organizations to collect wish lists from children and families in need. Our tree is decorated with gift tags, each representing a specific wish—ranging from cozy winter clothing to a child’s favorite toy.

Community members are invited to stop by, select a tag, and return a wrapped gift with the tag attached. It’s a small act that makes a big impact—and helps brighten the holidays for those who need it most.

The Giving Tree typically runs from mid-November through early December. We’d love for you to join us in spreading kindness and cheer—stop in, grab a tag, and be part of something truly special!

Whisk Takers Collage

Whisk Takers Cooking Class

Whisk Takers was a hands-on, community cooking class that brought people together to explore easy, nutritious meals made with locally grown ingredients. Hosted in partnership with MSU Extension Pondera County and the Montana Partnership to End Childhood Hunger, each session highlighted practical recipes, seasonal flavors, and helpful cooking tips for all skill levels.

Throughout the series, participants explored themes like cooking with local lentils and beans, quick and healthy family meals, and creative ways to use an Instant Pot. The final class ended on a high note with a special surprise—each participant took home their very own Instant Pot to keep the cooking going at home!

With such a positive response, there will be more opportunities like this on the horizon. We’re always looking for new ways to bring people together around food, learning, and community connection.

3 Minute Miracles

3 Minute Miracles began as a simple idea with a big heart—to show appreciation and brighten someone’s day in just a few minutes. Launched by the PCI team, this ongoing effort encourages us to pause from our daily routines and do something kind, thoughtful, or encouraging for others in three minutes or less.

What started as a light-hearted team challenge quickly turned into a meaningful movement. Whether it’s writing a quick thank-you note, leaving a small treat for a coworker, paying a compliment, or making an unexpected phone call to check in—3 Minute Miracles reminds us that it doesn’t take much time to make someone feel seen, valued, and appreciated.

The ripple effect of these small moments has been incredible, inspiring both our team and community to look for ways to share kindness in everyday life. After all, a few minutes can truly make a lasting impact.
