Vanessa was raised on a farm in rural Montana, where the values of hard work and community were deeply rooted in her upbringing. She began her academic journey at the University of Montana, later transferring to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
Her career began in commercial lending with Wells Fargo Bank in Las Vegas. She later transferred back to Montana with the company and went on to earn her MBA from the University of Montana. Vanessa rose to the role of Vice President of Commercial and Agricultural Lending before deciding to pursue her passion for entrepreneurship.
In 2013, she founded PCI Conrad, where she continues to serve as a licensed insurance agent and financial services professional. Since launching her agency, Vanessa has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table, an elite global association of financial professionals. She has earned multiple awards and has held numerous committee appointments recognizing her leadership within the industry.
In 2018, she achieved her Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, further demonstrating her expertise in insurance and estate planning. Vanessa currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors for the University of Montana.
Outside of her professional achievements, Vanessa is also a published author. Her memoir, The Penultimate Step, offers a personal look into her life and experiences. Vanessa and her husband, Tyler, are raising their three children—Claire, Nick, and Colette—on their family farm in Montana, where they grow wheat, barley, and hay. A passionate runner and outdoor enthusiast, Vanessa has completed thirteen marathons—including the Boston Marathon—and three ultra marathons.
